Remembrance Day – commemorating our Old Boys

Aquinas College commemorated 100 years since Armistice was declared at a special Remembrance Day ceremony at the College last week.

Students from across the College gathered in the Br Paull Centre to pay their respects to and remember all those who have served their country in armed conflicts across the generations, and the centenary of the declaration of Armistice to end WWI.

Many Old Boys of CBC Perth enlisted in WWI, with many never returning to Australian soil. Students are sharing some of the stories of Old Boys who served in WWI this week as part of College commemorations to mark the 100th anniversary of Armistice.

This picture includes four CBC students Albert J De Baun, Jack J Savage, HJ Appel and Alaric Pinder Boor (1910 College Annual) who were alike in many ways, they became College prefects, excelled in sports and academia, and all enlisted to serve their country in WWI.

De Baun and Savage managed to survive the treachery of the war and return home to family and friends. Sadly, Boor and Appel were killed in action. Lest we Forget.
